The Teacher Mom

Well.. I'm down to my last full week of summer! I've been neglecting by blog like crazy lately.. I told myself that I was going to be so much better at this! I truly appreciate all of you who are getting ready to go back to school and are taking the time to read what I have to say! I'm sure many of you- like me- have kiddos at home who you are not exactly excited to start taking back to the babysitter or daycare because you have gotten so used to staying at home with them... This is my first full summer being a mom- and I have loved it so much!! I hope you all have as well! Someone on facebook shared this post today, and I really love it. It makes me feel better about going back to school- so I thought I would share it with all of you!

I also thought I'd share a couple more pics of my sweet Amelia who has been part of the reason that I have maybe been neglecting this blog.. When you see the pics- I'm sure you will understand why I have enjoyed the time I have left with her, rather than being a super-blogger :)

The past few weeks have been a blur..

Oh my goodness, how I've neglected my blog as well as my Teachers Pay Teachers Store! The past few weeks have been crazy busy, from family visiting over the 4th of July, to my daughter's 1st birthday on July 13th, and my husband home with out of town family visiting for that..whew! Oh, and I almost forgot, July 16th was my husband and my 3rd anniversary :)
 Our 1st year, we celebrated here...

Then, on our 2nd anniversary, we had just brought home our baby girl... and this year? ha! Well it just so happens that July 16th was the day that Jimmy Buffet was in Cincinnati! I'm a HUGE Buffet fan, so this was okay with me! :) We celebrated our anniversary with our first visit to the new Cincy Margaritaville and then to the Buffet concert! hehe

So as you can see, I've been a little bit busy! I've tried to get back on track and think about going back to school... Can't believe it's getting so close already! But, I've worked a little in my classroom and created a few more things that I've added to my teachers pay teachers store

 

I just finished my Kindergarten Common Core Data Binder.. I hope this helps me to stay organized as my kiddos master these standards through the year!

I also have some Learning Target Cards that I plan to frame and hang, and then write my targets with dry erase markers. I'll definitely post some pics when I get them up!!

 

There are a few more things I have created that I can't wait to use in my classroom, including my All About A Number Cards that I plan to use in my calandar, as well as my Student of The Week pack!

Back at it...

Today I had a meeting at school, so I decided that maybe I would go early and start putting my classroom back together... I walked in the door, and was overwhelmed by this:

I left some things up from last year, because we didn't have to take everything off the walls, but do you see everything that was just stuffed into those cubbies? AND I really want to redo my room with some new things for this year! Today I pulled out the disinfectant wipes and began cleaning the inch of dust off some things, but that's about as far as I got... I'll keep you updated as I make changes and start getting this room back together. Our kinders will be here in two weeks to see our classrooms! EEK!

Our district is focusing on the Common Core and stressing how important it is for our kids in primary, especially kindergarten, to have a strong number sense. So when I got home, I was able to at least get one thing finished to add to my calendar..
