Zulily has teacher supplies??

And Who knew that Zulily had teacher supplies?! I have shopped Zulily many times for my two year old daughter, and love it! They have great products with amazing prices!! I never really thought to look at them for things for school! Look what I found! 

These blocks would be great in an early childhood classroom! 

And look at these! I know kids in grades k-2, especially boys, would love to read these fun books by National Geographic! 

And look at these phonics word hunt books! My kiddos love word searches, I think these would be a hit! 

I bring a large insulated cup filled with water to school each day... How cute are these???? I could always use a new one!!

Five for Friday!

I hope everyone has had a great week! Here are five things I have been up to this week! Be sure to check out www.doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com to see what others have been up to! 

1. Jimmy Buffett concert! He's my favorite- always so much fun!! And- that hat on my head was my aunt's Buffett hat from when she used to regularly attend!!

2. I signed up for my first wine and canvas event! It's on August 12th- I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out!! :) 

3. We are doing a super hero theme at school this year! I'm so excited to use this cute super hero clip art in my classroom! Aren't they adorable?! You can find them here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Superhero-Graphics-Set-679111

4. We attempted to take my daughter to her first movie... It was a free movie, so at least we didn't waste any money... She loved the popcorn, but was not very into Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2! 

5. I was able to attend a Harry Wong workshop with the other 1st grade teachers I'll be working with this year! He was SO good! I highly recommend seeing him if you have the chance!!

Hi friends!
It has been SO long since I have written a blog! 😁 my apologies! I hope you are all enjoying your summer!! Here are a few things I have been up to:

This girl has been in our backyard in her little pool or at the neighborhood pool almost every day! She loves it... And so do I! :)

Vacation near Tampa Fl... My aunt lives there, so having a place to stay is wonderful! This was on Caladesi Island... My favorite place :)

My husband Henry and I had a little adventure around Washington Park and Over the Rhine in Cincinnati to celebrate our four year wedding anniversary! 

We celebrated Amelia's 2nd birthday- Minnie theme- her absolute favorite!

We also had to transition to a toddler bed! 😳 after she jumped out of her crib twice, I knew it was time! She has thankfully done great about staying in her bed when it's bedtime- thank goodness!!

This girl also is POTTY TRAINED!! My biggest accomplishment by far this summer! Here she is enjoying a potty prize :) want my advice? Go cold turkey no diapers... Clean the floor A LOT for a few days.. Reward each time the kiddo makes it to the potty, and TADA! Haha :) she does wear a diaper at night, but that's it... No pull-up AKA glorified diaper!

Who knows who this is? It's my fun first team posing with Harry Wong, his wife Rosemary and their guest speaker!! Such a great workshop! If you have the chance to see him- do it!!!

Spring Cleaning Sale

Happy Friday Eve! My goodness I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of working 5 days without a break from the s-n-o-w! I can't even say the word after our 22 snow days this winter! It isn't quite as bad as it sounds- our last day with students will be June 6th. I am very over winter and ready for SPRING! Dress like a book character (Read Across America Week)

We aren't doing a lot with Read Across America at my school- due to 22 snow days! But I have a couple of characters I have dressed up as in the past!

Can you guess??  Haha One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish of course!! This was from our Dr. Seuss night a school a few years ago! Each grade level chose a book, and an activity to go with the book. The other kindergarten teachers and I made a fun game where the kids were "fishing" for rhyming words! So much fun!

The next picture wasn't for Read Across America, but for our Halloween Carnival a couple of years ago. Can you guess which book character I am dressed up as? 

My favorite kindergartner (or first grader) Junie B. Jones of course! :)

My top pick is the wonderful Barbara Parks. I love Junie B. Jones as do my kindergartners! It saddens me greatly that Barbara Parks passed away recently- but I am SO very grateful for her leaving us with Junie B.!

My next pick is Victoria Kann. If you haven't read her Pinkalicious stories- you need to! She is more loved by my girls than the boys, but still so much fun!

Another favorite is James Dean! You have to love Pete the Cat! I also love that you can go the publisher- Harper Collins website and download the songs that go with the books! They are so much fun!
